Usually I would suggest to get a Macintosh, but you’ve already done that. Did you try it with IE Mac yet?

    Screw MSNBC, go to C-SPAN.

I got that earlier when I was trying to watch the Halo2 Trailer.

Too bad they don’t offer it in a downloadable version.

I tried it on the Powerbook, it told me to get a different operating system! I just opened it up in IE and the page didn’t even work because I had IE set at the recommended higher settings required because of the bug MS hasn’t fixed yet.

That’s Microsofts way to say: “Please support our monopoly” ;)

Matt! You opened up IE?!? You like living on the edge eh? You’re gonna be 0wned by .ru hax0rz in a few minutes…

My friend gave me this link to the video. I’m not certain it’s the same video you wanted to watch, but it worked fine for me (opened right up in Windows Media Player — though they also have a Quicktime version).

Another link you may need. http://www.cspan.org/Search/basic.asp?BasicQueryText=Barack+Obama&SortBy=date

Pretty decent quality. It’s RealPlayer though. =/

The official convention site has some Mac-friendly formats of the speech, even if the URL is not so friendly: http://www.dems2004.org/site/apps/nl/content3.asp?c=luI2LaPYG&b=125925&ct=158769

as long as it makes my microsoft stock go up, I’m fine with it :-)

Launch have this confused as well: they think I need a 7.1 version of Netscape (or, of course, IE) to view their videos. Because we all know that Mozilla-browsers were a step backward from Netscape, right? ;)

Have you tried running a User Agent switcher for things like this. 9 times out of 10 the only reason something like this forces you to run IE is because they want to rather than any technical reason…

  • Sushubh July 29, 2004 @ 3:14 pm

You have certainly not tried this on IE :)

feel free to remove that comment. i would not like anyone to get hurt (??) by it. it was just a technological marvel.
