Two Steps to Salvation

This has got to be the worst error message with the worst instructions ever. I want to see the video (Barack Obama) but I’m afraid about what will happen to my computer if I fire up IE.

  1. I tried it on the Powerbook, it told me to get a different operating system! I just opened it up in IE and the page didn’t even work because I had IE set at the recommended higher settings required because of the bug MS hasn’t fixed yet.

  2. My friend gave me this link to the video. I’m not certain it’s the same video you wanted to watch, but it worked fine for me (opened right up in Windows Media Player — though they also have a Quicktime version).

  3. Launch have this confused as well: they think I need a 7.1 version of Netscape (or, of course, IE) to view their videos. Because we all know that Mozilla-browsers were a step backward from Netscape, right? 😉

  4. Have you tried running a User Agent switcher for things like this. 9 times out of 10 the only reason something like this forces you to run IE is because they want to rather than any technical reason…
