RSS Ping

RSS Ping has launched! “RSS Ping combines RSS item metadata with site update information.” Call it Ping 2.0. ;) See also: David’s post about it.

    The linked page is very abstract, can you add a bit more to it such as a few common use cases? Are you planning to include this in WP1.6 or as a plugin?

    Nice idea. I was working on a similar idea with a friend of mine, tho we haven’t even got past the “it would be cool if…” stage. Looks like we won’t have to.

    HAve you any plans for a more practical usage.

    The idea is a good one. I suspect that Google already make use of similar principles to save bandwidth. They do it by encouraging Webmasters to provide XML sitemap. But many of us know that already…
