Are you going to share how you logged and tabulated this?

  • Alejandro Martinez January 10, 2008 @ 1:46 pm

LOL I thought i was going to be part of the Top :p

  • Matt January 10, 2008 @ 2:01 pm

You’re right, it might be time to release RoutePress.

  • Sean January 10, 2008 @ 2:10 pm

    @Matt: I’m shocked your mom doesn’t have a blog… hehe… something like mom.wordpress.com

    Now RoutePress… I’d beta test that :)

  • Mom January 10, 2008 @ 2:12 pm

    I COULD win if I wanted to…

  • Billy Dennis January 10, 2008 @ 2:12 pm

You Mom doesn’t have a WordPress blog, or ANY kind of Web site? Shame!

  • Sabo January 10, 2008 @ 3:00 pm

Mom doesn´t have a blog, but she “programmed” the boy who created WordPress, if that counts for something :P

I´ve sent you just one e-mail last year and didn´t recieve a reply … :( yet.

  • Ike January 10, 2008 @ 3:30 pm

    Nah. It would be PhotoMomm.net

(Matt – I’d jump on that url if I were you…)

  • Alt January 10, 2008 @ 3:33 pm

Hehe, I received most of my email from root. I have yet to meet him (or her) in person :-)

  • Gabriel McGovern January 10, 2008 @ 3:40 pm

Wow – if I had only known you were keeping track.

    Cue the mailbombs in: 5 4 3 2 1…

  • Andy Shen January 10, 2008 @ 4:07 pm

hahaha … i do that type of thing too :) i release the stats at the end of the month and then annual statistics.

  • Dennison Uy - Graphic Designer January 10, 2008 @ 4:46 pm

    Web Results 1 – 8 of 8 for routepress. (0.23 seconds)

    Did you mean: route press

    Okay, I’m curious :)

  • David January 10, 2008 @ 4:57 pm

So this is an invitation to e-mail you lots? Be careful, I love to write… and there is little difference between hitting publish and send. :)

  • Corinne January 10, 2008 @ 5:55 pm

    “Mom,” that’s too cute.

My mum can’t even turn on her computer without my help, so your Mom is extremely impressive.

  • Karlonia January 11, 2008 @ 12:25 am

Wow, that is a lot of emails! I can’t imagine sending out that many emails to a single person AND still finding the time to maintain a website, write content, do the promotion, etc.

Meanwhile, my mom has pretty high computer literacy and also sends her fair share of emails. She still doesn’t have her own website, but I’m having lots of fun showing her my search query stats and giving her free SEO lessons.

  • Charleen January 11, 2008 @ 5:28 am

I can believe that Mom beat me, but I can’t believe that I didn’t crack the top ten! Please tell me that I was at least in the top 25??
To be fair, I should tell you that i haven’t finished making my new year’s resolutions yet…

  • Jenny January 11, 2008 @ 9:08 am

I wish I had gotten that much email.

  • Raj from Bloghash.com January 11, 2008 @ 12:10 pm

Kinda amusing to see that you have time to count who sent how many emails to you and also make a post about it.

  • Bill January 11, 2008 @ 5:12 pm

There are tools that you can use to count… I have one right now that even tells me what time the email was sent so I could tell you that the number one person that I email is Ron Brown and that the majority of those are sent to me between 4am and 6am Pacific time. I know when Ron works!!!

  • Bill January 11, 2008 @ 5:13 pm

Oh… It was 2856 pieces of email by the way…LOL

  • Niyaz PK January 12, 2008 @ 2:16 am

    Hmm…
This year I wont get any spam. Spammers will target Matt…

  • john.jones.name January 12, 2008 @ 3:51 pm

    thats pretty cool

what also would be interesting is the amount of spam you got in comparison
(what general filters do you use is intresting to people like me who deal with email all day)

    have fun

  • Matt January 12, 2008 @ 4:31 pm

Spam is definitely not included in these numbers. I actually don’t run spam through my stats script because it would be too process intensive, I just dev/null it before it gets processed.

  • MidMido January 12, 2008 @ 10:37 pm

    That’s So Cool

I can’t imagine that number of e-mails to one Person!

  • Eric Monse January 15, 2008 @ 11:40 am

    I want a recount! – Eric Monse

  • Bill January 15, 2008 @ 1:37 pm

Mine are work related… I email all day so I usually don’t email for personal… I pick up the phone.

  • maya January 15, 2008 @ 3:00 pm

    I sent you 802 e-mails Matt? That’s insane.. I’m so sorrrrrry. :(

  • Matt January 15, 2008 @ 4:03 pm

Haha there’s nothing to be sorry about. :)

  • Fake Mom January 16, 2008 @ 1:58 am

    Hey kids.
    Don’t mess with me.
I will shut down this whole thing.

  • Niyaz PK January 16, 2008 @ 1:59 am

Matt, the link to Maya’s website is broken.

  • John January 16, 2008 @ 4:07 am

    You should say:

These are the people I received the most NON SPAM email from in 2007 (started logging in April):

Wouldn’t want to give away “follow” links to pork shoulder and sodium nitrite in a can.

  • Renae January 17, 2008 @ 6:55 am

Matt, I just viewed the photos from your Dad’s birthday. The “Houston” caught my eye, as I’m a native Houstonian.

    Your parents are adorable!

  • Dhruva Sagar January 17, 2008 @ 7:43 am

:) , are you really serious about this?
Are you giving them credit or are you demeaning them?
