As you mentioned, when you're at SxSW you get recognized and people shout out to you (hopefully nothing crude!) ... does it make you feel like a super star or is it kind of ... embarassing? I remember once time I was at the mall a group of teenagers came running up and asked for my autograph ... I was in a band at the time and had played a really big show a few nights before so they recognized me. But it was both exciting and humbling at the same time.
