Its a funny list and these things remind some of us what they should be doing, much like letter writing there is a art to email and not everyone can follow the conventions… my personal gripe is with people who’s signature does not include the dash and carriage return so i can not remove it from being quoted in my reply to them…

Heartily agree with @johnbillion above. These are all just common sense things. If you can’t do that automatically, you shouldn’t be sending email at all.

Excellent guidance! But I would add: If your message is written in all small letters with no punctuation, don’t send it. This irritates anyone who has successfully completed high school.

If you need to go down a list of thirty-six bullet points before sending your next email, maybe you should instead learn some basic social and communication skills first.

Actually, if someone calls me, they are interrupting something that I consider important. Calling me on the phone without sent e-mail first is probably going to get a hostile reception.

That goes double for one of those “I saw your resume on Monster” callers that never seem to have read what they claim to have seen.

I heartily agree with most of the list.
