    Nice one Matt :)

I’ve tried it out and you can see the results on my personal blog!

Like many, I waited or the 3G iPhone, so it’s not even fasionably late; it’s perfectly timed.

  • britg July 22, 2008 @ 12:53 pm

Better late than never! Trying it out now

  • m@ July 22, 2008 @ 1:23 pm

I don’t have an iPhone, but it doesn’t work out too well with Monotone I hear. That’s unfortunate, because being able to publish full sized images right from the iPhone would be great.

  • modemlooper July 22, 2008 @ 1:37 pm

I think its simple and straight forward but it has a glitch where it publishes blank posts.

great job on it though. I would like to see some uses of the actual iphone hardware like picture taking.

  • Bryn Youngblut July 22, 2008 @ 5:51 pm

It’s almost like I need to get an iphone just so I can use this! Sweeeeet.

  • Chrisedge July 22, 2008 @ 7:25 pm

Hangs when I add my site to it…Tried deleting app and reloading, tried deleting entry, I’m on full signal wifi…Nothing…Too bad!

    I’m on a self hosted setup…

  • John July 22, 2008 @ 7:56 pm

    awesome. best ever.

  • Don July 22, 2008 @ 8:46 pm

I love this application. It works very well with the new iPhone 3G.

  • Brian July 23, 2008 @ 3:38 am

I like the application. I have two plugins that it doesn’t play well with (Twitter Tools & Wordbook), but plugin interaction is a common bug with new apps or upgrades.

Wish list would be a WYSIWYG editing pane, since Apple doesn’t consider a cut/copy/paste buffer a priority, it’d make it a little easier to make richer HTML posts on the go.

  • n July 23, 2008 @ 4:25 am

not sure if it is only supposed to work on wordpress.com blogs, but can’t get it to jibe yet with my self-hosted blog. i’ll keep messing around.

i love your blog design. one of the best i’ve seen. reminds me of moving into a sunny house with wicked wallpaper and spackling up stuff getting ready to put my own touches on it.

  • randy July 23, 2008 @ 6:28 am

I like the fashionably late part, especially since my typepad friends have been bragging for a while…

  • johnmryan July 23, 2008 @ 7:32 am

Cant get it to work, post that is, every time I try to it crashes or it gives me an error message, it downloaded posts fine but cannot post

  • Kai July 23, 2008 @ 7:41 am

    Hi,

nice App so far. I would like to see support for that german thing called “umlaut”.

And maybe there is a chance to pull the tags from the blog, so i can choose from them rather than to keep them in mind.

    Keep it up!

  • Vince LoGreco July 23, 2008 @ 8:20 am

It worked nicely for me, it will be great to post my thoughts on the go. Thanks Matt.

  • steve July 23, 2008 @ 9:01 am

Bravo. WP proves day in and day out that it is the most flexible, forward-thinking CMS on the planet.

  • HotForWords July 23, 2008 @ 10:10 am

I can’t get it to work either.. I get the Operation could not be completed. (NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5.)

  • James July 23, 2008 @ 11:00 am

I think it’s a TwitterTools Plugin issue but any time I’m writing something in the WP iPhone App and hit preview… it posts a tweet that I have a new post, with a bunk post link.

    WEIRD

  • V:) July 23, 2008 @ 12:43 pm

I like it!! It works wonderfully well on my iPhone. It’s getting to the point where I don’t even have to turn my Mac on anymore.
…oh and your blog design is freakin’ fantastic!

  • herkayle July 23, 2008 @ 12:44 pm

Well, speaking of iPhone Ive seen the video of Steve Jobs unveiling the new iPhone with the head-to-head video “How do you Compare”: Steve Jobs v. Bill
Gates with their big ticket tech toys.(new iPhone and xbox 360} in http://clashorama.com/index.php?id=178

  • nbumpercar July 23, 2008 @ 1:56 pm

This application is the bees knees.

I just keep making posts and making posts about making posts and all kinds of whatnot.

It is especially cool that my iphone can do this – as it sometimes has a hard time actually making and holding onto a call – it sometimes has a hard time with the phone part – whoa boy!

  • Paul Querna July 23, 2008 @ 3:59 pm

    Matt:
On this page, it says the App is Open Source:
    http://iphone.wordpress.org/credits/

But I haven’t seen anywhere to download the source at etc?

    Thanks,
    -Paul

  • Matt July 23, 2008 @ 6:20 pm

Paul, if you poke around you can find the SVN but we’ll more officially point to Trac and a mailing list later today.

  • Makki July 23, 2008 @ 7:15 pm

    Nice!

  • Claude July 24, 2008 @ 8:33 am

My draft posts folder showed as empty, when really it’s got 12 drafts. Would be great if I could edit them with my iPhone.

Also, the big giant DELETE BLOG button is way too dangerous, in the settings section. O.M.G.!!!!!

  • Jank (Bill Jankowski) July 24, 2008 @ 9:12 am

Works like a champ on the iPod Touch. Pretty freaking cool.

  • Bill Glover September 13, 2008 @ 10:59 pm

Now that I’ve had WordPress for iPhone installed for a couple of weeks I’ve finally written a short review (some of it on the iPhone).

You can read the full review on my blog (http://billglover.co.uk/archives/2008/09/12/684) but in summary: Well written App with some nice touches. I’m not sure though that the focus of the App should be post composition.

  • Brigitte October 18, 2008 @ 9:05 am

Not sure if my first comment went through but like Claude my local drafts folder is also showing up emty when in fact I have posts in there. Is there a way to retrieve my posts? There are numbers there indicating I ave posts but nothing shows up.
