Some sites, like WordPress, where I’m typing this right now, pushed out retina upgrades right away. The result is amazing. I’m typing this, and it looks like I’m typing out printed words. Text is so crisp.

From MG’s review of the new Retina Macbook Pro. There is more news on the retina-WP front coming soon. My review of the Macbook Pro Retina: best computer I’ve ever used. Amazing screen, great speakers, I’m willing to put up with the extra size and weight after being on 13″ or smaller laptops for… 8 years I think.

  1. Couldn’t agree more. The speakers are great (and so is the built in microphone), it’s thinner than my previous 13″ MBP, weighs the same, has a beautiful screen and is blazingly fast. Love it.

  2. Hey Matt, I hang out in the MAC stores a lot and the new retina macbook is unbelievable. I kept playing with both laptops (13 inch and the retina) and the retina feels weightless in your hands. It is also incredibly comfortable with the large screen. I can’t wait to Buy one after the next big check comes in…;)

  3. Technically speaking, what needs to be done to prepare a website for retina displays? If you double an image size and then scale it with css, does the retina mac know to take full pixel advantage? Anyways, thats probably my next work comp, unless they come out with a retina imac

  4. Hey Matt! 🙂 I don’t really understand the sentence “Some sites, like WordPress, where I’m typing this right now, pushed out retina upgrades right away.”

The text is rendered by the browser, so there is nothing related at all with WordPress. That said, they updated their icons in the administration, they indeed look crisp on the retina display.

I have a MBP Retina as well, but I wanted my website to look perfect… I had to develop a plugin by myself (I am a developer), and you can try it out if you like: it’s called “WP Retina 2x” and you can install it directly from your WP (you will find it easily). Give it a try and let me know what you think about it! 🙂
