Favorite PHP Editor, I realized again today that I have Dreamweaver open more than Thunderbird. It works, but it often feels clunky or like I’m fighting the program. I’m going to check out a few of the options from this thread.

jEdit is great for almost any programming language, and works on any platform that supports Java. It’s great, and has a lot of really useful plugins.
Zend Studio is the best. Maguma goes after.
I use SubEthaEdit for everything (Mac OS X), but I’m downloading jEdit now to see how it is.
I’ll have to second the motion on Zend Studio. Excellent tool for PHP development and it supports phpdoc. Very handy if you are using self made or third party classes.
