I just realized that because the WordPress support forums has RSS for everything and Bloglines is indexing it Bloglines must have all 60 or 70 thousand posts from the support forums in its database. I wish there was some way we could tie into that search directly.
The search can be restricted to the support forums (mostly) by adding
“WordPress.org thread” before the search string.
The results, however all link to http://wordpress.org/support and it’s only the Preview link that shows the actual thread’s contents.
Example :
http://bloglines.com/search?r=0&q=wordpress.org+thread%3A+1.2&submit=Search
Similarly:
http://www.bloglines.com/search?t=1&r=3&q=+%22http://wordpress.org/support%22+
with the search term(s) added at the end will restrict results to the support forum. I tried it an it works ok.
Hi Matt,
I’m adding your feeds to Feedster now and will post another comment with a search url specific to your feeds.
Scott of Feedster (oh and we should catch up sometime; i hang on aim as feedster2003)
Ok I just added http://wordpress.org/support/rss which I assume is the right rss url. We’ll start indexing from this point forward. If you want us to index all 50,000 posts, its quite easy but contact me and we’ll get started.
Scott
i dunno, but i find google site search better than wpminibb search anyday.
