There’s a small “error” at the bottom of the page. We are told to use pingback.extensions.getPingbacks() with no arguments, and that makes no sense at all.
Simon Willison describes a more sane way of retrieving pingbacks. Use pingback.extensions.getPingbacks() with one argument – the URL you want to retrieve pingbacks for. This is also how things are working in the recent builds of WordPress (or it was the last time I checked).
Did I mention that WordPress (expletive deleted) rocks for supporting pingbacks? Well, it does. 🙂
Side note: am I the only person who finds that “pingback.extensions.getPings” would be a more consistent name for the method? After all, it’s “pingback.ping”, not “pingback.pingback”.
