Nike Uses WordPress

The Daily Snkr Blog is a new event blog for Nike done by the Blog Agency in France. Thanks to Stéphane Wharton and Jean-Luc Raymond for writing in about this. Also thanks to the Blog Agency for using WP for this project.

  1. It’s easy to talk about WP in France without creating polemics, Stef.
At the last ParisCarnet, I talked about WP with various attendees, the talks were courteous and constructive.

Contrast this to your attitude towards the french blogosphere: mépris, childish manners, and veiled threats to other webloggers’ offline businesses whenever they happen to disagree with you or, God forbid, forget to mention your blog when they talk about the french blogging phenomenon.
Just get off of your high horse and stop screaming like a persecuted victim when all you are doing is losing the little credibility you built in the one year you’ve been blogging, Stef.

(Matt, I’m sorry to have to type this kind of vindicative comment on your blog, but yesterday Stef made threats against my employers’ business just because a coworker made a light hearted vulgar joke about the Snkr blog. This is a despicable attitude in my book.)

  2. By the way Matt, Jean Luc Raymond quit blogging on Mediatic some weeks ago. A group of authors have taken over blogging there. 🙂
And for the record, I like some of blogagency’s creations. On the Snkr blog, I like the horizontal calendar idea at the top. The text on most of their creations barely meets the standards of blog readability/elegance ratio, though.

  3. I reckon, being the one responsible for the French translation of WP, that I should be the one blamed for the difficulty Stef had when talking about WP in France 😉
Then again, that didn’t stop me from chatting with michel_v on the various ParisCarnet occasions.

Anyway, seriously, I think that Laurent is right in his comment : selling business blogs feels weird in anyone’s mind, and that doesn’t require WP.
