I have always wondered: won’t the ‘switch’ (careful with a word Matt refrains from) consume more time than it’ll save? Although the standard layout was simply adapted to suit typewriters, 15 years of typing have made it instinctive. Drop 15 years of experience?!?! And then be unable to work on a friend’s keyboard? Or a public terminal? Or undertake computer-based exam? (I bet the latter can make special arrangements)
