Thanks, Matt, for drawing attention to this usability info. I think that one of the major decisions for WP concerns how much emphasis will be placed on making it friendly to the non-tech user. I would describe myself as a somewhat tech user, but since I can’t find the trackback URI of this post, and someone else has already managed to trackback, maybe I should demote myself. Or maybe this is an example of a usability issue…
Andrew–I found it on a lark. I typed trackback/ after the entire permalink, wondering if that was the default trackback link. Don’t demote yourself because of my dumb luck.
Good luck to you… As a usability person and open source fan, I’ve most often found that the open source community don’t actually want any advice or help… their response normally being, “great ideas… now download the source via CVS and make the changes”… which is understandable but frustrating…
Which leaves many of us only able to offer more user-friendly “skins” … which missses the point… usability can’t be added later as a gloss layer
