Everyone’s entitled to his.her opninion ofcourse. Rants such as these…hmmm not sure, what I do like is the fact that blogging about such a matter matters, it’s your space not someone else’s. Keep those love songs coming Matt. And yes I must agree with Jonathan on this, not my thing JT. Prodigy that’s more like it, listen up.
I’m a JT fan — sadly, I have been since the Mickey Mouse days — but this CD was just sort of….blah. I thought Justified was a great CD but I think he’s completely misunderstood what his niche is on this disc. I know you can’t make the same disc twice, but I would have rather he stuck closer to that mold. Just my opinion. 🙂
With that said, there are a couple excellent cuts: “FutureSex/LoveSounds” and “What Goes Around” are pretty rockin’.
The real story: how hard does Timbaland rock? That guy can do anything. It’s about time he’s getting some props.
I have been listening to the new JT album for about a week now, and the more I listen, the more I like. One of my favorite tracks is “What Goes Around – Comes Around”, especially the last ~90 seconds of the song where the beat changes… good stuff.
I have always been a fan of Timbaland and his beats/music. You can hear his influence throughout most of the CD, it is great. Very upbeat and fun to listen to.
It looks like the world agrees with Matt on this one, futuresex debuted at #1 on the charts and according to jive … Selling more than 684,400 copies in its first week, Justin Timberlake becomes the #1 Pop Artist, secures the #1 R&B album and reigns as the best selling solo male artist debut of the year.
I feel like you wasted space on my feed reader on this one Matt, this CD is such crap =/
Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. I think it has some really great music on it.
Yeah, I agree, different strokes for different folks, that’s just not my thing. I like Usher and all, but the JT cd doesn’t fit my style…

I’m diggin this one too, Matt. Definitely gets a 1 from me too.

I’ll side with you on this one Matt.

I give it a 1 as well. 😉

When I read “binary music review” I tought Matt had done a structuralistic take on reviewing an album.
But then there was JT. I guess this one blew up in my face.
Ha ha ha haaaaa.
I seem to remember a “N*Stink” script you implemented on pva.net…just a few years ago.
Heheh.
Yes, this album is amazing.
