Well, the blogging world failed to evolve along with the social world when it was time. In short, the social world gave each and every users all the tools, bells and whistles, to be on the “Internet”, while the blogging world remained a niche platform for few.
Oh the irony of Tweney writing an excellent article on the virtue of running your own WordPress site to bring it all home as opposed to all the social networks that come and go, and then posting it on a site that only allows comments to link back to those same social networks instead of my own site.

I think we can combine both (blogs and social networks) in platforms like Ning.
I disagree. Content is and always will be king. A blog post is far more targeted than Facebook page.
