What about Google Keep tho? It also super light weight and allows you to store images as well, and no need to “signup” as you already signed into Google on android devices (and normally web as well).
Funny timing. Over the weekend I was researching ways to turn WordPress into my own personal note-taking tool – sort of a personal Evernote & control the data myself (found this article: http://goo.gl/8eQsVD)… guess it’s a common notion!
Matt, in the interest of full disclosure, you might have mentioned Automattic (the company you founded) acquired Simperium, maker of Simplenote, in January 2013.
Well done, looks good and really fast!

What phone are you carrying these days?
S4 and an iPhone 5. Not crazy about having two but we’ve been testing lots of stuff on both.
It looks good. Try Workflowy as well. It’s used by Matt Cutts and are awesome!
Have you tried google keep?
I think its only fair that you give a few comparisons for your comments. Those folks at Evernote might think your biased or something…

It’s pretty public knowledge as I announced it before and they’re on the Automattic.com homepage, but thanks for raising it.
I’m not alone, The Verge just named Simplenote one of the best new Android apps: http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/12/4720428/best-new-apps-simplenote-for-android
