I just read the other day that some scientists believe they have grossly _over_estimated the number of extrasolar planets? That some other factors may contributed to the wobble they attribute to gravitational pull. I guess in a way, that’s good news for the filter (fewer planets -> less chance of contact by extraterrestrial life to this point due to causes other than self-destruction).
