It might just be me…. but how many of them deserved to go Platinum anyway?
I don’t have trackbacks/pingbacks/webmentions at the moment (sorry) but I wrote a bit about this today on my blog. Pardon the link: No more Platinum albums?
Interesting. I was trying to find some type of trending with this statistic. The closest I could find was this 2013 article:
http://uproxx.com/music/2014/01/none-10-highest-selling-albums-2013-went-triple-platinum/
It would be nice if there could be a correlation to music consumption. I would guess it is the same (or higher).
There’s still a good shot Taylor Swift’s new album will go platinum, seeing as they’re holding off putting it on the streaming services. Last time they did that with one of her albums it went platinum in a week.
Until now that is – http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2014/11/05/361577726/taylor-swift-platinum-party-of-one
