“I still only travel by foot and by foot it’s a slow climb but I’m good at being uncomfortable so I can’t stop changing all the time.” The latest from the unreleased Fiona Apple CD. Hat tip: Jess.

As if the album has been finished for years and Sony doesn’t want to release it because it doesn’t have a “marketable single”.
1.) sony’s going down. 2.) she hits some amazing pitches in that tune. i’m so impressed. mmmmmmm.
p.s. AH I AM SO COOL.
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED THIS SPRING. WTF??
Matt I just love your taste in music…. Never heard of Fiona Apple, but on that song alone I want to buy an album… just browsing apple, and i see two albums – Tidal and When the Pawn…
Theres a double disk that includes both aswell http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006NT0D/qid=1102421247/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/202-5973485-6243069
I may just have to buy that! 😀
I love them both, but When the Pawn consistently blows me away.
Well the double cd set arrived the other day, and I’ve had a good play.
I like it a lot, but Extraordinary Machine by far impresses me the most… will have to watch out for that new album i guess!
Thanks for the hat tip as it were Matt.
/me walks off wondering if he should buy an album by Brad Mehldau which Matts pointed out the other day…
It’s an album that grows on you a lot, I didn’t like WTP at all when I first heard it, except for maybe “Fast As You Can.”
oh god. I’m only 14, and was just a young’n when she came out with both cds. I just love the feeling of her stuff, it feels so whole and deep – nothing i’ve EVER heard before. Do you mean you’ve actually heard one of her new songs – how?
Free Fiona!
Sorry, I just had to say that.
Apple is an extremely impressive artist, and its a pitty Sony won’t take a risk on her. This is the problem with the music industry today — all marketing, no artistry.
Does she have the opportunity to go with another label (say, Blue Note) or to to self-publish, or is she contractually
enslavedobligated to Sony for another disc?Glad to see that, from the sound of this tune, these difficulties aren’t getting her down too much.
if you know anything about why sony isnt releasing this email me
