I read a book from him on web usability long time back. that guy is visionary… quite like HÃ¥kon Wium Lie…

Thats probably the best complement I think someone could give him.

“Thank you, because I apriciate what you do, even if I don’t agree with everything you say, I respect that you actually say it”

Actually I’ve noticed him mellow over the last year, partially I think its because he is becoming more aware of things are they apply to real people, not just usability labs. Most of what he says tho is common sense, often taken to its logical extreme application, but still common sense.

Its the extremes that drive us.

darn it, matt. i hate it when people caption things with “___ and i” when it should be “____ and me” — people are so scared of saying “___ and me” even though it’s right because it’s wrong when you use it in a sentence like “george and me are going to the park.” if you think about it without “george” you get “me is going to the park,” which is, of course, wrong… that’s why you say “george and i are going to the park.” however, for captions, it’s “this is a photo of george and me” — if you take out “george” it’s “this is a photo of me” … which is right!

much love from your annoying friend in austin.

    *laughs*

That does get drummed in hard as school kids tho doesn’t it? I know I sometimes wonder if I’m using them correctly…

Out of curiosity, which part of Nielson’s work do you not agree with?

Unless I’ve missed it, JN has written almost nothing on blogs, and the extent to which they follow or flaunt his usability guidelines. Any thoughts on why he has left us alone?
