Why don’t we grow up here. Sure advertising is annoying but without it how does 90% of the world find out you have a product?? Rich media ads are a great tool for selling products. Properly designed there is nothing wrong with rich media, the beautiful thing is that it can actually be less intrusive but more effective. Its all in how its done, don’t just pan it because it doesn’t fit into your naive worldview.

It’s not that they don’t fit into a worldview – its that they are annoying, and are voted one of the most annoying things about the internet consistantly (after popup ads).
There can be good rich media adverts it’s true. Just like there are talented, erudite, well spoken, 13 year olds. However finding examples of either on the internet is tough work…
