In Philippines
Landed in the Philippines a few hours ago. Looking forward to meeting WordPress users in Davao and Manila! In other news, the immigration/customs forms here are sponsored by a booze company. Smartly, though, they use carbon copy so you don’t have to write the exact same thing twice, like you do in the US. ¶

Actually, that is no funny matter, about that booze ad in the immigration forms. I didn’t know that an ad can be inserted in government forms!!someone is making money off them. The government is paying for those forms already so why feature an ad.
if you write more about it, it can even be big political news here. thanks for pointing out the booze ad.

Hi MAtt! Welcome to the Philippines!
I move here 11 years ago and although things get tough here sometimes, I will never leave as this is my home for life. Enjoy your stay and thank you for all your efforts to make Wordpress the best system for blogging in the world. I just start a blog and without Wordpress it would not be possible.
Although your stay may be short please try and feel the true warmth of the Filipino people as there is nothing like it in the rest of the world!

Happy to know that you’re finally here in the Philippines, hoping to meet the man behind WP this Saturday.
Btw, the event, College of St. Benilde, is also where I study.
Have fun around the Philippines!
Ooh, about the customs forms. They’ve issued new forms, I wasn’t aware of that. Last time the customs form I filled out didn’t have a Tanduay ad on the bottom.
Interesting.
tonex | September 4th, 2008 @ 12:52 am |
Ahhhh.. two of the greatest inventions on earth – carbonized forms and Tanduay.
