Azureus is a really excellent cross-platform bittorrent client. The best I’ve used so far. This is an arena really waiting for its killer app.

Definitely. I’ve been using it for a while; what first tempted me from the official client was the MDI, as I was sick of having multiple windows open. However, after using it for while, I’ve found tons more functionality that I couldn’t do with out.
I nearly had a hernia when they discontinued it, I’m glad it returned =)
It really is a great client. The only problem is how resource intensive it is. (Darn Java)
I find that I’ve gone back to the ncurses client (btdownloadedcurses.py in linux) for most of my torrent needs since I really only download one at a time – As for resource usage … well I find it to be quite light, except when initially loading/checking. The python (official) client rocks much more there.
I much prefer BitTornado. It’s much lighter (and faster) and allows you to select which files (in a multi-file torrent) to download and at what priority. Also very nice is the fast resume feature where recently opened torrents don’t need to go through the long hash-checking process. Sure, the interface isn’t as pretty or even well thought out as Azureus, but I’d still recommend it to everyone and anyone who uses a BitTorrent client of some sort.
I’ve been through quite a few clients and am currently happy with BitSpirit. Has a few kinks yet though.
