  1. Not used to seeing Mezzoblue not fill up a whole page – but I like it. the accents are very nice (like the primary nav’s active state animations and such.) great attn to detail. i dig, too.

  2. i prefered his last design a lot more.

his becuase list seemed poor to say the least. the red colour he uses is pretty harsh. most people are going to say hey like it, just because of who’s site it is.

  3. I really like to see him revert to his old colour scheme. Proton was way to cheery, and the blues, brown, and yellow didn’t exactly mix well.

V5 is going to be liked by people who disliked the previous one, but liked Radar. I’m sure he’s going to enable Proton and Radar again when he adds the new structure to the CSS files.

  4. Okay, okay…

So my comment was so horrible that it was removed. Let’s try this again – this time a little kinder.

    missing from Dave’s “Because” list:

Because v4 was rather unpleasant to look at.

That said, I’m a fan of Dave’s stuff. I just thought the last version of MezzoBlue was icky and visually lacked a lot of the quality that defines most of his work. To be fair though, v4 had some cool stuff going on like that upper-right menu with the snazzy mouse-overs.

  5. matt, you’re right. it’s his site he should do as he pleases, he seems to prefer the site more than the previous, and it’s easier to update. he shouldn’t have to please anyone but himself. but still, i personally prefered his last design.
