Just got this email, “I am the artist manager for Bob Ricci, famous parody artist. Our site www.BobRicci.com (http://community.bobricci.com) caters to more than 350,000 hits a day from fans worldwide. I wanted to let you know that in our years of being online and having to support such a large amount of global traffic WordPress.org is the only software we have found that is able to withstand the amount of traffic and offer us a community/news service in the online marketplace.” Sweet!
I wonder if they are running the site fully dynamic or using a static plugin for certain high load or db intensive sections? Knowning that sort of information would give everyone a good idea of just how well WordPress will scale with pretty intense traffic.
That’s killer! What else would they expect from WordPress though? Really…
I give you credit Matt. I wouldn’t have got past the first setence before I hit the SPAM button.
hahaha, nice 1, Anthony 😛 I would do pretty same (that is if my spam filter plugin would not kill it in the first place ;))
Wow, I thought my old website had lots of traffic. But what is 25k compared to 350k? I would love to know more about how that amount of traffic is handled and how well WP performs for sites like that…
