So they’ll be sending us those invites we signed up for on the WordPress.com homepage?
Not quite yet, way too many people signed up already! We’re looking for a smaller test at this point.
hmm my other post disappeared anyway what are the invites for Matt? i not any idea is first i heard of it.
How about you give one to everyone who has left a comment on your site 😉 Just curious though, what will these invites give us? Whats on wordpress.com…???
Anyone care to explain what’s going on? I’m way too confused.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s a mechanism similar to GMail invites. With spam blogs being endemic, one needs to gain control over who creates can blogs, as well as how many. It is a novel idea, in my humble opinion, which can result in a highly-reputed network of blogs. It would attract the best bloggers from junk networks (I will not mention names).
Let me guess … invite-only social network blogging platform, like blogsome.com with an orkut touch ?
My hunch is that wp.com will be a subscription system, ala TypePad. I kinda hope I’m wrong though, that’s soo boring (and useless to moi). I hope it’s something cooler.
Well, WP has been one of the best things that’s ever happened to me, so I’ll follow any project related to it to the ends of the internet. I’m jazzed to see what Matt’s got cooking.
Suddenly the wp.com homepage has changed..I guess my hunch was right 🙂
It sounds as though Matt and others are seeding the invite field, with an invite giving you one blog plus one invite to pass along. I started making my case for an invite yesterday evening.
Hmmm… this is sounding googlicious.
WordPress has always been fun and exciting, and this is making it even more so.
Think GMAIL
pass a word press blog on
quite nifty
I keep asking myself the same thing…but I still think it’s blog hosting (I signed anyway as I still don’t have a host…).
I already have signed up when the page was not yet up. Will I get an invitation? Or have I to sign up again?
I don’t really want to get an invite, I guess. I’d rather see a working version of the WordPress Multi-User package that it’s running. And install it for my friends on my server.
I understand the invite idea and its similarity to that of Gmails, but what service is wordpress.com going to offer? Im with monkeypup on this one, can’t wait to see what it is.
please invite me i need it like oxygen
I’d like to have an invite, if I may be so bold.
I wonder if there’s a place for invites trading on eBay. I guess it’s only a matter of time… or even PageRank.
Matt is just tormenting us on the invites. I’m waiting to get in.
Matt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh Matt please, everything for an invite 😉
The new look for WordPress.com is very nice and now it is certainly obvious that it is a host for free WordPress blogs. I once again plead with the Mattmeister for an invite.
I need an invite…desperately! 🙁 Lol
hi matt, can you give me an invite, please….
Please hook me up with an invite. email: tehdsf@gmail.com Thanks!
