The exponential growth of commentspam blocked by Askimet is positive advertising for WordPress. Which is good. But is also raises the question whether we should constantly occupy ourselves and others with cleaning up the mess made by others, or make sure the others do not make the initial mess.
Askimet is stepping a little closer to the mess-makers, freeing the bloggers from the trouble of all cleaning up.
But in the near future, may we expect to see organisations, for instance Google, cleaning up data before it even hits a blog or any website?
Development is scary anyhow, that is a lot of useless bandwidth usage.
