This is an excellent article on how social networks make a living but also how they attempt to relate to their users.
It seems (1) they’re bringing in less money than expected and (2) users aren’t sure what “more” they’re getting out them — which means the social networks need to re-state why they’re so useful (assuming that they are, of course).
