  1. Matt, I live directly opposite the Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s vaults in Edinburgh (smws.co.uk).

If you’re ever in this part of the world I’d like to introduce you to an old friend of mine named Talisker.

  2. Scotch is truly the drink for recessions and depressions. It is your only true friend in this mad-mad world.. Cheers…

    1. I’d have to disagree with the “drink for recessions”. Here I am getting mad at gas going up ten cents and then end up dropping a hundred bucks on a small bottle of whisk.

  3. One ‘method’ from ex-USSR…
    Ingredients:
One bottle (up to 1l) of any kind scotch whisky (you can use brandy too 😉
1-2 litres bootle of “BAYCAL” – the greatest USSR softdrink…
Mix 1:1 or 1:2… and drink.
    Real long-drink…
I like use Johnny Walker Red Label for this method…
Black label give me more pleasure in pure statement. But it is not suitable for long drink effect.

  4. In the UK there is a chain of stores called the Whisky Shop, pure heaven all they sell is Whisky.

Shelf upon shelf of the stuff, free snifters and mental enthusiastic staff who will stand and talk for hours on the subject. – Heaven

  5. Hi Matt – if you’re ever over in Scotland, we’d love for you to drop by the distillery for a tour, and a tasting or two of course.
As it happens, we’re currently working on implementing a new blog using WordPress, which we’re sure will be a great addition to the site. Needless to say, choosing which platform to go with was *very* easy!
