After a lovely weekend in New York I headed straight to Seattle, but not because of the Microsoft announcement like many people thought, but to attend a meeting for Grist, an environmental non-profit (with a sense of humor) whose board of directors I just joined. In addition to being a great organization to be involved with that has funny but important coverage, I hope to learn a lot more about the non-profit world and apply it to the WordPress Foundation. Tonight I leave for the Philippines where I’ll attend and speak at a WordCamp in Manila. I’m looking forward to the end of the year when things slow down.

looking forward on seeing you this saturday!
On a semi-off-topic note, it was a nice surprise seeing an interview with Earl right at the top of the front page of Grist. He’s a really cool guy.
Back on-topic though, Grist seems like a really cool organization.
cool, when will you be making your way to Malaysia? 😀
The Grist rocks. Excellent choice.
Wow! This is really great news. I’m also interested working for non-profit organizations, though am not that popular LOL. But its really nice to hear that influential people are doing this things. Keep it up!
A WordCamp in Manila?! Where can I get the details? :O
i’m afraid registration has already ended. here’s the website though http://wordcampphilippines.com/
Ffffffffff Oh well D:
The Internet is a wonderful thing. Try it out sometime.
Mabuhay! =)
Grist is a very good site, though I think their major redesign caused some significant problems. Most notably, I don’t like how it is impossible to scroll back through old posts. Once you leave the front page, you just get a giant messy tag cloud.
My only question: when will grist move over to wp 😉
I’m excited Matt. Have been following you for years but havent seen you in personal yet. lols. 😉
Yeah. See you [again] Saturday in Wordcamp 😀
I would love to meet you in person! I feel so bad. How can I miss WordCamp Manila!? Guess I was sleeping for too long.
I am so glad you came here in my lovely country. I am sure you already know what does it mean by Filipino hospitality by now…
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
Now I will be meeting the Brad Pitt of the Internet World in person and I am uber excited!
As they say here, KITA-KITS!
The Grist is awesome! And so is Seattle, I was just there last weekend. Have a good trip!
