I came across Loud Thinking because I mistyped the domain I was trying to get to. What a lucky mistake.
Email Bounces
Had a few emails bounce this morning. If one was you just resend it and I should get it okay.
A New Mezzoblue
Dave redesigned Mezzoblue again, I dig.
Forum Idea
What if a forum had a URI structure like a blog instead of a forum?
Blogtimes Usage
People using Blogtimes, mostly the MT version. Blogtimes for WordPress uses the same filename.
Voting Machines
Voting machine glitch during demo, Murphy’s law applies to elections as well. It sounds like Sequoia is trying to do the right thing. I can’t think of a single good reason not to have a hard paper copy of every vote. “Election officials say that putting printers on voting machines would create problems for poll workers if the printers break down or run out of paper, and the paper records will cause long poll lines with voters taking more time to check the record.” Oh no! People would be checking their votes! We don’t want that. I will personally donate to the paper fund if they’re really that worried they’re going to run out.
Tie a Tie
How to Tie a Tie, no reason.
Prodigal Switcher
Kevin switched back to WordPress after flirting with Textpattern.
Bushlies.com
Without discussing the actual politics of the site (please) Bushlies.com is the first use of WordPress to promote a bestselling book I’ve seen. Judging by the comment counts it gets some good traffic.
Building a House
Building Your Home with WordPress, excellent read. Craig is looking for feedback.
Christopher Schmitt
Christopher Schmitt, CSS guru, has begun blogging and a live redesign of his site. (I love those!) He’s rolling with WordPress.
Cool Query of the Day
To remove trailing slashes from URIs: UPDATE `blogs` SET blog_uri = LEFT(blog_uri, (LENGTH(blog_uri) - 1) ) WHERE RIGHT( blog_uri, 1 ) = '/';
Rows affected: 328,561 in 92 seconds.
Subversion Book

Speedy Technorati
I’m not sure why, but my Technorati cosmos for photomatt.net has been blazing fast lately. It’s just the wordpress.org one that has been MIA for a while.
Divide
Okay, I’m on Multiply. Stop with the invites. :-p
XFN Poster
Tantek and Eric presented a XFN poster at Hypertext and that’s really cool. 🙂 I had a look at the poster and it’s very sharp. It looks like it hints at something new on the way…
Cool Powerbook Cases
My bud Kelly just pointed me to these cool Powerbook bags. This looks like it could work. I want something very slim and form-fitting for my 12″ to basically protect it from scratches. Most of the time it’ll probably be inside my messenger bag, but I need to protect it from scratches inside of that. Any suggestions?

Windows SVN Client
Just downloaded TortoiseSVN, which I hope is as good as its CVS cousin.
Tramadol Attack
Just had a spam attack, about 90 comments over the course of two hours I was away from the computer. Not a single one is visible because every one was caught by my filter. How to delete them all? Comments Mass edit mode → Search for IP → Check all → Delete checked. Basically less than five clicks to delete 90 comments. The search could have keyed on any part of the name, email, or comment. It took longer to write this sentence than it took to delete two hours of spammers work. This isn’t a new 1.3 feature, this has been in WordPress for months.
