Okay, I’m on Multiply. Stop with the invites. :-p
XFN Poster
Tantek and Eric presented a XFN poster at Hypertext and that’s really cool. 🙂 I had a look at the poster and it’s very sharp. It looks like it hints at something new on the way…
Cool Powerbook Cases
My bud Kelly just pointed me to these cool Powerbook bags. This looks like it could work. I want something very slim and form-fitting for my 12″ to basically protect it from scratches. Most of the time it’ll probably be inside my messenger bag, but I need to protect it from scratches inside of that. Any suggestions?

Windows SVN Client
Just downloaded TortoiseSVN, which I hope is as good as its CVS cousin.
Tramadol Attack
Just had a spam attack, about 90 comments over the course of two hours I was away from the computer. Not a single one is visible because every one was caught by my filter. How to delete them all? Comments Mass edit mode → Search for IP → Check all → Delete checked. Basically less than five clicks to delete 90 comments. The search could have keyed on any part of the name, email, or comment. It took longer to write this sentence than it took to delete two hours of spammers work. This isn’t a new 1.3 feature, this has been in WordPress for months.
Localize That
Over at Signals vs. Noise (the other SVN) Jason asks about localization and I respond with how we did it in WordPress. I say “we” but the credit should really go to Ryan. In terms of professional translation services I can’t recommend anyone more than Linguistic Solutions. If you talk to Christopher Hurtado tell him I sent you and you may get a deal. We’ve known each other forever.
Sourceforge Woes
Sourceforge seems to have borked parts of the WordPress CVS repository, replacing files with files from other projects. Needless to say, this makes the CVS a little more bleeding edge than normal. Looking into this now. Might be a good opportunity to move this last critical bit off Sourceforge and switch to Subversion.
iPod Won’t Mount
Weird problem: my iPod shows that it’s charging and it shows up as connected (with full info) in the System Profiler but it doesn’t mount, it doesn’t show up on the desktop or in iTunes. I’ve tried two Firewire cables and a USB cable, so I’m sure it’s not that. If I had to guess I’d say it started after the 10.3.5 update, but I’m not really sure.

Linux Journal
Son writes in that there is a good review of WordPress in this month’s Linux Journal, including a mention on the cover! I had no idea this was coming so I went to Border’s and lo and behold there it was. I picked up two copies and I’ll post to the dev blog later with a response to the article.

Spammers Discover Internationalization
Got this in my inbox this morning with a Spam Assassin score of 0.1: “If yöu Ã¥sk yöursëlf “Höw cÃ¥n it bë sö chëåp?”, thë Ã¥nswër is simplë: wë buy hugë quÃ¥ntitiës dirëctly fröm thë möst fÃ¥möust PhÃ¥rmÃ¥cy Pröducërs (whërë pëöplë cÃ¥nnöt buy) thÃ¥n wë chÃ¥rgë just önë cënt për dösë. And no, they weren’t using CSS or a punk band.
