Due to some distractions and mishandling of scheduled posts on my part, I broke my blogging streak. I got up to 198 days, which isn’t bad, and I’m looking forward to beating it next time. A lot of people might not know this, but if you’re on WordPress.com or run Jetpack when you start a posting streak it will give you a notification high-five every day you continue it, this was the last one I got:
Next streak 365 days!
mishandling of scheduled posts on my part, I broke my blogging streak
This is one of the reasons why I built this plugin. 😉
That looks much better than Editorial Calendar which is what I was using.
Hey Matt, it seems there’s some nerdy wordy shortcut madness around. Reading through your latest tweet… from #WCScranton. WC (like used in WCs) could also be understood as a shortcut for ‘Water Closet’ 😀
I really hope you have fun on stage and fixing the typos and shortcuts for a better understanding and/or internationlized laugh. Never mind me being so cheeky!
You’re streak was/is impressive and inspiring. I run Jetpack on a self-hosted blog and have my own streak going, but haven’t received any notifications. Do I need to turn something on or dig deeper? I couldn’t find any mention of streaks in support docs or google.
Make sure that the Notifications Module is active: http://jetpack.me/support/notifications/
Thanks for your reply. The notifications module is active and I am receiving badges for likes, comments, etc. Perhaps the streak has to reach a set threshold and I’m just not there yet.
Your annual post-per-day average is still very high. We are 200 days into the year. I’m betting that by the end of 2015, your overall average will be more than one post-per-day. A couple of “double post” days will easily put you over the top!
That is a fantastic streak Matt, better than most!
Where can I see a list of all badges and achievements? I am using Jetpack on a self-hosted blog and I can’t find any streaks.
I’m assuming this is all tongue-in-cheek, because in reality quantity is lame. I write 2 – 4 posts per month at briandonohue.org (but they average around 1,500 words each).
Is there a Streak Broken badge? 😉
