    You’ve been business weeked :)

  • Miroslav Glavic September 29, 2008 @ 3:30 pm

You are #14, so there were 13 people more influential on the Web….Congrats on #14, it isn’t something you get to be just like that….If you sign my t-shirt at wordcamp torontol, and become #1, I will buy you a cuban cigar (or whatever is the “top” cigar brand) and a beer (if you don’t drink then milk).

So what did you do when you found out you were in the 25 list? Who did you call first?

  • Andrew September 29, 2008 @ 4:05 pm

I personally don’t think that it is a ranking at all, simply because everyone has a different ‘Title’. Its probably just some random order.

But anyways, congratulations Matt, it is well deserved, and I’m sure that without the Automattic team WordPress wouldn’t be where it is today.

  • Matt September 29, 2008 @ 4:23 pm

Yep it’s just in alphabetical order, which is why I’m in between Ma and Murdoch.

Miroslav – haven’t called anyone yet. I found out via a SMS from Jason Hoffman.

Dude, Matt, congrats. Amazing the status that WordPress has brought you!

  • Tinh September 29, 2008 @ 6:46 pm

I did not see the full list in the article, can you show my who are from #13 up :-)

  • Miss Dré September 29, 2008 @ 8:36 pm

    Congratulations Matt!

  • Toby Getsch September 29, 2008 @ 9:34 pm

Cool. Have you thought about how do you want to be influential? If so, how?

  • ?? September 29, 2008 @ 9:36 pm

    ?? ??? you are great

  • Chetan September 29, 2008 @ 10:26 pm

    Good recognition :)

If that would have been according to some scores, then shouldn’t you have been below 10 rank? ;)
Anyways yes, its in alphabetic order.

    Hear! Hear!

“The Publisher” — awesome nickname! ;)

  • Jim September 30, 2008 @ 6:14 am

Way to go, Matt! That’s some pretty heady company to be in, but from where I sit you are certainly deserving of it.

I personally enjoyed the way they shared the list–in terms of each one’s contribution, and not the same-ol’ same-’ol “Who’s #1?” etc. It makes each one of your contributions equally important–since they are!

Congratulations on all your achievements and this acknowledgement of your powerful influence on the Web. I’m truly proud to be a part of the WordPress family!

  • Jenny September 30, 2008 @ 7:39 am

    Congrats!

A wonderful Matt! The founding developer of WORDPRESS, hehe

Nice to know a little bit your biography
    Good luck!

  • Eduf September 30, 2008 @ 9:35 am

Congratulats! But don’t trust journalists and lists. Tomorrow they can classify you as jerk. :)

We use your software, we know that your contribution to the web is immeasurable.

  • Matt G. September 30, 2008 @ 11:31 am

    Totally awesome, Matt.

  • Wang Xinlinhai October 1, 2008 @ 9:34 pm

  • Julie October 2, 2008 @ 8:35 am

    Whoa. Amazing!

Also, it’s Rupert with an e.

I think The Publisher needs a copyeditor. ;)

  • Matt October 2, 2008 @ 8:52 am

Haha was that a volunteer? ;)

  • Stu McLaren October 3, 2008 @ 2:45 am

You are certainly in fine company.
