Eric on structural class names again, but my question is whether or not semantics belong in class in the first place? No matter how you cut it, divs and spans are still the semantic duct tape of the web, and it seems like a better solution would be a richer array of semantic elements available in a way that’s backwards compatible with current HTML. (Not XHTML 2.0.)

MacZealot Tutorial
Installing WordPress on OS X 10.3, well-written and thorough.
Loic
I met Loic at the dinner the other night, nice guy. He was sitting next to a Drupal developer. Look like an interesting table.
Macopalypse
Second Horseman of the Macopalypse, classic Jonas wit.
Optimize Your Site
Chinese
WordPress in simplified Chinese. Looks complicated to me. (Thanks, I’m here all week…)
Meetup?
Tantek and I will be at Rockin’ Java on Haight @ Shrader from 8 PM till about 10. If anyone is interested swing by and say hi.
Photos
Pictures from Upper Haight, Google, a long drive, and the Supernova dinner. These desperately need captioning.
Second
The photos are up from my second day in San Francisco, including the WaSP mini-conference/party. There are a few funny ones but the ones from today are really great, I just need to finish a few up.
Screen Savers?
Someone told me WordPress was on TechTV today. Anyone catch it?
Tantek’s New Digs
Tantek gives notice to Microsoft, and will be at Technorati. I got to talk a good amount tonight with Kevin Marks and David Sifry. Technorati has had some growing pains lately, but I can finally understand why they’re expanding so rapidly: Dave is an incredibly charasmatic ambassador for their genuinely interesting technology. Add in a good team, and it’s a recipe for success.
Why WordPress?
Why WordPress? An oldie but a goodie.

Kitten’s Friendly Comments 1.0, allows you to whitelist friends and moderate everyoneelse. Haven’t tried it myself yet, but how can you not like a name like that?
Webmonkey
Is WebMonkey back? Does it matter?
First Photos
Photos from my first day in SF are up, there were some others but with any luck they’ll never see the light of day.

Netcraft on WP
Netcraft on WordPress and blogging software shift, however the best reason to use WP isn’t that it’s free, it’s that it works better. Hat tip: Simon.
Davezilla
Davezilla, funniest site on the net, redesigns and switches to WordPress. Seems a little slow though, might want to check out the Staticize Reloaded plugin.
