Using this PHP and Flash graph tool I found via Jeremy I made this new stats page for Ping-o-Matic. If you hover over the line it’ll actually show you the data for that day.

Blogger Endorses Firefox
Just got this in my forgot-my-username-and-password email from Blogger, “You could also try logging in/recovering your password from a different web browser – we recommend Mozilla Firefox: http://mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Sincerely, The Blogger Team.” Very nice, but if they had recommended “gbrowser” then I would’ve had a real scoop. Also, they have a really great website. I don’t know how much is Adaptive Path magic and how much is in-house, but the result is a pleasure to use.
Interesting Traffic Graph
Check out this traffic graph with data from Alexa. Hack the URI a bit and you can put anything up there.
More Synergy
Tor gets Synergy running. It can’t be that easy. Includes videos.
Costco
Costco wins loyalty with bulky bargains, I got this link in an email from my uncle titled “Why I Love Costco…” I think we have one of these in the area now, I had no idea they compared so favorably to Sam’s.
It’s a Sign
This is awful but I couldn’t resist, map of Florida counties and how they voted in 2000 overlaid with the paths of Charley and Frances.
No More Sun
A couple of people wrote in to ask what happened to the sun in the header. You may have noticed it too, if you aren’t one of those leechers on RSS. 😉 I was told that today is the first day of Fall. The sun in the header was for summer, and while it’s still hot as heck here in Houston, there is a season. (Turn, turn, turn…)
More Screens
The quad-monitor setup is going well. None of them match each other, but it’s 62″ of total screen space. Life is good. Firefox still seems to have some issues when it’s used on a secondary monitor, but hopefully that’ll work itself out in a later release.
New Music Tuesday
Jean-Louis is Everywhere, which has my favorite bass clarinet solo.
Broken 100
The Technorati 100 looks like it is broken. It wasn’t me.
Moblogging
Adam Greenfield on Moblogging. I’ve been lessblogging since 2002. (I’ll also admit at one point I thought moblogging was silly.)
Lindows Chat
Om talks with Lindows/Linspire founder Michael Robertson.
Om
Had a great lunch and coffee today with Om Malik, an interesting guy with a lot of insight into nascent markets and opportunities.
Apache Playboy
I just downloaded Apache and was surprised to see “The currently selected mirror is http://mirrors.playboy.com/apache.” Apparently the tech team over there mirrors a few other projects. “Playboy’s resident tech nerds would like to thank the authors, contributors, bug testers, and everyone else involved in the Open Source software we use on a daily basis. THANK YOU!” What a strange world.
Trac
Trac, integrated source control and project management. I’m getting this set up for all my personal projects, including this site. Update: If I can ever get the dang thing installed.
Day Zero
Yesterday was fun, got settled in and indulged myself a bit. Had some Korean BBQ, drove all over the city, walked on the beach and watched the waves and stars, geeked out for a little, and finally looped by Tantek’s. Another good but tiring day.
Arrived
The flight was good, the iPod rocked, weather is beautiful, the hotel has internet, life is good.
In San Francisco
I will be in San Francisco again this weekend, up to no good as usual. My schedule is a little tight Friday and Sunday, but if you are going to be in town as well please leave a comment or email. This looks to be a very interesting and fun trip.
